Hello and thank you for stopping by!
I am an impressionist oil painter living in North Carolina, although I love to paint anywhere. I often paint en plein air (outdoors) but have fun experimenting in the studio as well.
When people ask me what draws me to painting, I want to say, “All of it!” Everything about painting is interesting. I am intrigued by the different strokes a brush can make, the way one color plays with another color on the canvas, the play of light and shadow, and the hues in them.
The emotion a piece of art can stir in the viewer is fascinating to me, both as observer and creator.
I find constant inspiration in the struggle to create a painting, a constant push to do better work, to learn more, to attain a new level, then another. I may never be satisfied, because there is so much to learn!
In the News:
I am so pleased to hear that my painting, Sailboats in Georgetown Harbor, was accepted in to the American Impressionist Society Associate members juried competition! They received 2,242 artworks for jurying and 258 artworks were juried into the exhibition. It’s an honor to have my work alongside those of so many artists whose work I admire.
